1. The lamp will now operate as a normal household lamp and can be turned on/off using the light switch. 

2. The internal Li-Ion battery will charge whenever the light switch is set to ON.

3. During a power failure the lamp will operate as an emergency lamp and switch on automatically as long as the light switch is set to ON.

4. If the light switch is OFF, the user must turn on the lamp using the light switch if light is required.
